Privacy Policy — Element Blocker
Element Blocker is a Chrome extension that lets users hide DOM elements on websites. This policy explains what data the extension handles.
Data we collect
None. Element Blocker does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, browsing history, or analytics.
Data stored locally
The extension stores the CSS selectors of elements you choose to hide. This list is keyed by domain (hostname) and saved via chrome.storage.local. The data:
- Stays on your device
- Is never sent to any server
- Is removed if you uninstall the extension or clear its storage
Permissions
The extension requests these permissions solely to provide its core function:
storage— save your blocked selectors locallyactiveTab— read the active tab's URL to identify the current domainscripting— inject the element picker overlay when you activate selection modehost_permissions: <all_urls>— apply your blocks on any site you visit
None of these permissions are used to read, log, or transmit page content. Only CSS selectors generated from your clicks are stored, and only locally.
Third parties
The extension uses no third-party services, no analytics, no remote code, and no external APIs.
Children
The extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from any user.

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will reflect it. Material changes will be noted in the extension's release notes.
